Crystal identifies as a queer Chicana and a first-generation college student. She is a graduate student at Eastern Michigan University obtaining her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Student Affairs. She also received her BA from EMU (2019) in Communications with a dual minor in Women and Gender Studies and General Business. She was born and raised in West Michigan but both of her parents are Mexican immigrants, which has shaped her personal and professional interests. She is driven by social justice and committed to making an impact when it comes to education equity for undocumented, underrepresented, and students of color. She has experience working with pathway programs to higher education and mentorship roles.
Fun Fact: Crystal loves to travel and learn about different cultures, some of her favorite locations have been Puerto-Rico, Japan, and Spain!
