Interests and Expertise

I am passionate about understanding how children and adults learn. Through exemplary assessment practices we can make the learning process visible. I have expertise in developing science education curriculum, as well as leading teams for accreditation of our science teacher preparation programs and the university as a whole.   As Director of Academic Assessment (2009-2011) and Director of the Faculty Development Center (2012-2020) for Eastern Michigan University, I specialized my scholarship in the areas of assessment of student learning and evaluation of faculty professional development. It is personally and professionally important to me that we share with the global community the high quality work and commitment we have to providing a learner-centered education to our students.
