• Who is it For?

The BrotherHOOD Living and Learning community is open to all men of color coming to EMU as freshman in the Fall. We anticipate that this will be a diverse community of students coming from all over Michigan and other states. Our community recruits 40 students each Fall. Participating in this community has no additional cost to you.
  • How do I Apply?

The application will open in December. If you are interested in becoming a part of the cohort of BrotherHOOD Scholars, please complete our BrotherHOOD LLC 2019 Interest form. If you have additional questions, we will have a a BrotherHOOD Resource Table at Fast Track Orientation. We will review applications and contact you directly. I look forward to hearing from you. • Can I apply to the BrotherHOOD if I am part of other Living and Learning Communities?

Unfortunately, you can only be part of one Living and learning Community. That means that we can’t accept students who will be part of other communities.
  • When do I apply?

Our recruitment for the Fall 2018 cohort begins in February 2018. Therefore, we encourage you to apply as soon as you have received your admissions letter from EMU. You can always apply online prior coming to campus for your scheduled Fast-Track Orientation.
  • Are there any GPA, Major, or ACT requirements to be part of the community?

The community is open to all men of color who enrolled as freshman at EMU. Both students with declared majors and Exploratory students can become part of this community. No GPA requirements or ACT scores are considered when reviewing applications to become part of this community.
