Frequently Asked Questions

How do I nominate a person or organization?

To nominate a person or group for a Student Gold Medallion award:

1) Complete the nomination form, once available, by February 10, 2022.

2) While only one nomination is required, additional nominations help strengthen a nominee.

The narrative portion of the nomination form should describe the specific contributions by the nominee related to the category for which they are being nominated.

Can a person or organization be nominated for an award in more than one category?

It is possible to nominate an individual for up to three categories. On the nomination form, simply select the categories in which you would like the nominee to be considered, and be sure to include relevant information for each category within the narrative portion of the nomination. Student Organizations may be nominated for both the Outstanding Student Organization and Outstanding Studen Organization Program Category.

If a person or organization has won an award in the past, can they be nominated for and receive another award?

A student may win more than once in consecutive years, but not in the same category.

How do I know if I've been nominated for an award?

If you have been nominated for an award, you will receive an e-mail explaining this and inviting you to attend the event. Nominees are encouraged to invite friends and family to attend with them.

Who selects the winners?

Student Gold Medallion winners are selected by a committee comprised of faculty and/or staff from across the institution. The decisions of the committee are final.

Who can attend the awards ceremony?
