About Us

EMU’s Paralegal Program offers an attorney-supervised legal clinic for its paralegal students. Students work inside the EMU-Washtenaw County Legal Resource center, insice the Washtenaw County Courthouse helping members of the public.

There is a program admission and retention policy, which is explained in this website. We welcome transfer students and have articulation agreements with many community colleges.

Program graduates are currently working in job settings such as Ford Motor Company, private law firms and the United States Attorney’s Office.

Many graduates continue on to law school. Recent graduates have been accepted to study law at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, the University of Toledo, Wayne State University and the University of Detroit-Mercy. Other students work in law related fields such as arbitration and mediation, in legal compliance, or in human resource departments.

Students must be admitted to the Paralegal Major (application [PDF]) and follow the retention policy, which is explained in this website. We welcome transfer students and have articulation agreements with many community colleges, which allows students to transfer certain courses specific to the Paralegal Program. Contact the program coordinator for more information.

Change your major and join the exciting paralegal field.

Come join us to prepare for your exciting career inside the law!
