Ann Arbor Learning Community (AALC) is a public charter school authorized by Eastern Michigan University. AALC first enrolled students in fall of 1998. The blended learning high school, grades 9-12, was added in the fall of 2018. The high school enrollment is currently open to all Michigan students in grades 9-12.
Ann Arbor Learning Community Blended Learning High School encourages personalized learning in an online and coached learning experience. The goal of AALC High School is to remove barriers to academic achievement through initiatives such as after school support, summer school, dual-enrollment, non-traditional education, and real-world experience; and to see each student graduate from high school.
Students' class schedules are designed to meet their educational and personal needs. Completing one class at a time to build success and then moving forward, students may complete the same number of classes yearly as in a traditional setting.
