About the College of Health and Human Services
A Message from the Dean
As the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at Eastern Michigan University I want to extend a warm welcome to those who are currently in our college and to anyone who might be considering joining our dynamic community in the future.
The fields that make up health and human services are vast and we are proud to make a difference in the lives of so many individuals, families, groups and organizations. Our faculty, staff and students come together with compassion, expertise and their dedication to create meaningful change. No matter which area of our college that draws you in, we are committed to improving health outcomes, creating authentic and meaningful learning experiences, and shaping the future of the health and human professions. With this mission, our drive to ensure that students and faculty are supported to embark on their own unique educational and professional journeys.
In CHHS, we believe in the power of collaboration and interdisciplinary learning. We foster connections within the college, through the EMU campus, and in our community to offer students a well-rounded education that prepares them for a career in which they can apply skills such as empathy, adaptability and the ability to think critically. The healthcare landscape is ever changing and our faculty, staff, and community partners are committed to empower our graduates to be ready to be leaders in these changes .
I encourage you to reach out, explore our website, take a look at different programs and come for a visit. Talk to our faculty, staff and students and ask questions about all of the amazing potential that you can find for yourself here. We are here to help you each step of the way.
Your journey toward a meaningful career in health and human services begins here. There are endless possibilities both in our college and at the university and we look forward to welcoming you!
