Alissa DeLong joined Eastern Michigan University in August 2011 as a part-time lecturer in the CHHS School of Health Promotion & Human Performance teaching human anatomy and physiology courses. In September 2016, Alissa became a full-time lecturer in the same program, continuing to serve multiple student groups, both graduate and undergraduate, within the CHHS including physician assistant, orthotics and prosthetics, exercise science, athletic training and nursing students. In addition to traditional lecturing, Alissa has been involved with the development and implementation of cadaver anatomy courses at EMU.
Prior to her current appointment, Alissa was a student athlete (soccer) and was involved in research (with publications) in the exercise biology laboratories (muscle physiology) while teaching and coordinating courses in the scope of human anatomy and physiology with cadaver emphasis for a similar student group.
Outside of the classroom, Alissa is actively involved in the community with the Miracle League of Northwest Ohio, a non-profit with focus on inclusive athletics for the special needs community. Alissa has been involved with MLNWO for over ten years as a volunteer, coach and treasurer of the Board of Directors.
