Professor Jerome's first career, while being a wife and mother, was teaching high school biology. After her two children graduated from high school, she went back to college to earn a graduate degree in exercise science. This degree was fueled by her passion for group fitness, particularly aerobics. Professor Jerome continues to teach group fitness as a Pilates instructor. Having been born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, her and her husband are new to Michigan. They moved to Michigan because their two grandchildren and their parents live here. Academic advising and teaching were both a part of Professor Jerome's life at Northern Arizona University before joining the School of Health Promotion and Human Performance.
