Aging Studies Program Student Organization (APSO)

NOTE: First meeting of the year TBA

At our first meeting of the year, we'll be talking about upcoming events and electing new officers. Come out and meet other people interested inĀ Older Adults who are students, students working in the field, and some alumni from the program!

If you are interested in the positions of President, Vice President, Graduate Representative/Secretary, or Undergraduate Representative/Membership, please email us at chhs_agingstudies@emich.edu for more information.

Some of the highlights of this meeting are:

  • Solicit ideas for our APSO Book Club book & set a date.
  • Pick a APSO fall service event (last year we did Chore Day through Neighborhood Senior Services and raked leaves for a lovely, elderly woman in Ann Arbor).
  • Elect new officers.
  • Talk about the Annual Fall Lecture/Reception

Pass Along...

Excellent article from the New York Times about how Mick Jagger and other celebrity exceptions his age stir up feelings in the elderly that unless they are acting like that (or their grandchildren) then they aren't 'successfully' aging.
