Additional Information

Dr. Sonstein has spent his entire career in academia, serving as faculty member, program director, department head and assistant dean at Eastern Michigan University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Dayton and Columbus College. He earned a BS from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Biochemistry from Hahnemann Medical College and has conducted basic, preclinical and clinical research in the area of antibiotic mechanism of action and antibiotic resistance, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology. He is currently Professor and Director of Clinical Research Administration at Eastern Michigan University where he developed and currently directs one of the first programs which offered academic credit and a degree in Clinical Research Administration. He is Co-chair of the Joint Task Force for Clinical Trial Competency, is a Commissioner on the Commission for Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and serves on the Certification Board of the Regulatory Affairs Professions Society. He was a founding member of the Consortium of Academic Programs in Clinical Research and has served on the Board of Directors of the Drug Information Association and the Advisory Board of the Inter-American Foundation for Clinical Research.
