Biography

Dr. Jonathan S. Carter studies the ways that communication technologies, particularly the digital, constrain and afford the development of social and political identities. Jon holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Nebraska in Rhetoric and Public Culture with a secondary focus on Organizational Communication. He also holds an M.S. in Communication from Illinois State University and a B.S. in Communication Studies and History from Northwestern University. Jon looks forward to developing a new course in Political Communication and expanding the ways that Communication examines networked rhetorics.
