Biography

Pat Barry has spent 46 years teaching, including 13 years at EMU after concluding 33 years as a high school teacher at Salem High School in Canton, Michigan. Patrick is deeply involved with the Honors College. He helped create the largest alumni chapter at EMU and chaired it for nine years. Patrick served as the president of the EMU Alumni Association until July 1, 2017. He also worked in yacht club management and banking for more than 20 years and was editor of a sailing publication for four years. Patrick and his wife live in Livonia, not far from his two children and three grandchildren. Patrick is passionate about teaching and helping others become their best selves. He considers himself a very fortunate person to have lived the life he has.
