Biography

Dr. LaMarcus D. Howard is the Director of the Disability Resource Center and Center for Adaptive Technology Education Lab at Eastern Michigan University (EMU). Dr. Howard brings over 13 years of higher education expertise in Student Access & Success, Disability Equity, Multicultural Affairs, School/University Partnerships, GEAR UP/College Day, and Academic Advising. He is dedicated to researching student access and success, emphasizing college Black males and students with disabilities well-being and academic achievement. Dr. Howard has presented at national and international conferences and is a published author of research on college student achievement. As an award-winning executive leader, he has completed the Cornell University Diversity and Inclusion certification, the NASPA Aspiring Vice President of Student Affairs Institute, NASPA Ujima Institute for Aspiring Vice Presidents, and is the recipient of the 2020 ACPA Commission for Social Justice Education - Outstanding Social Justice Educator Award.
