Biography

Dr. Raul A. Leon is an associate professor of higher education and student affairs at Eastern Michigan University. Dr. Leon teaches courses in student affairs including: contemporary college students, student development theory and diversity leadership. Dr. Leon is a researcher with several publications and extensive working and international living experiences. Dr. Leon's work examines strategic diversity management, student success and the internationalization of American higher education. At EMU, Dr. Leon serves as the faculty associate for the BrotherHOOD Initiative, a living and learning community designed to foster success for males of color on campus.

Dr. Leon is a graduate of the Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA) doctoral program from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been awarded the UW-Madison School of Education Outstanding Alumni Award (2015), the ACPA-Michigan Outstanding Publication Award (2015), and EMU's Ron W. Collins Distinguished Faculty Award for Research (2016)
