By selecting the Elementary Education Program with Two Minors [BS] Major, you will earn a Bachelor of Science that leads to a K-5 elementary education teaching certificate. This major provides the greatest flexibility as you can choose two minors from the following: Integrated Science, Mathematics, Language Arts, and Reading.

What You Will Learn

In addition to content from the two chosen areas of study, you will learn to plan and execute child-centered learning experiences for children in grades K-5.

Certified teachers with the endorsements associated with their minors can teach in grades K-5 all subjects as well as grades 6-8 self-contained classrooms and 6-8 classrooms pertaining to endorsements in the chosen minor areas. By pursuing this major, you will have the knowledge and training to take a leadership role in education at the elementary and middle school grades. Having this expertise in more than one subject area makes for a very versatile elementary teaching degree and rewarding career.
