This Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)-accredited degree program is designed to help you develop the professional leadership, research and management proficiencies you need to improve your school's system.

What You Will Learn

You will learn the theory and practice of leadership as well as legal, professional, and ethical issues in your chosen area of study. You will engage in-field experience in one or more leadership areas of interest through a supervised internship.

Higher Education/Student Affairs [M.A.]

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership - Higher Education/Student Affairs (HESA) offers a practice-based experience designed to prepare the new generation of practitioners in higher education and student affairs.

Our program is ideal for those seeking entry-level positions in the field, and those aspiring to become mid-level administrators in offices such as orientation, Greek life, residence life, TRIO programs, diversity offices, academic advising, student activities, alumni relations, and international affairs.

HESA offers a flexible course schedule including full and part-time enrollment and several delivery formats (evenings, weekends, week-long, hybrid, online, and distance learning).

K-12 Administration [M.A.]

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership - K-12 Administration has four major content areas that make up the curriculum:

1. Leadership
2. Research
3. Professionalism
4. Management Competency/Proficiency

Further development in the areas of human relations, diversity, and technology, are emphasized.

This is a state-approved program for the building level principal license in the State of Michigan. It also has reciprocity across the United States.
