The Elementary Education Reading Minor, along with skills acquired through a major course of study, prepares you to teach reading in grades K-8. Successful completion of this minor, in the context of other program requirements, qualifies you to be recommended for endorsement in Reading (BT) in the state of Michigan. Certified teachers with the Elementary Reading endorsement (BT) are able to teach grades K-5 all subjects as well as grades 6-8 Reading and self-contained classrooms.
