The Mission of the Centers and Institutes in the College is to link faculty, student, and staff capabilities with the needs of Business, Industry, Academe, and Government to meet regional, national and global needs. The Centers and Institutes provide creative and relevant basic and applied research to solve real-world problems as well as providing a variety of service, educational and training programs for external customers.

The Mission of the Center for Product Research and Development (CPRD) is to provide a vital product development link between University activities and manufacturing industries through applied research and education.

Bullet   The Center for Regional and National Security

The Center for Regional and National Security is committed to excellence in teaching, training, and research within the areas of Information Assurance, Law Enforcement/Fire Management, School Safety/Security, Homeland Security, and Emergency    Management.

Bullet  The Coatings and Research Institute

The Coatings and Research Institutes mission is to be a leading academic organization that develops relevant scientific knowledge   for understanding and for expanding the science and technology of paints, coatings, inks, adhesives and related nano-based materials.

Bullet  The Textile Research and Training Institute

The Textile Research and Training Institute (TRTI) mission is to be a leading academic organization that provides relevant and   creative research and training programs in the area of "applied textiles" that cut across multi-disciplines and industries.
