Derick Carver

Professional Summary

Derick J. Carver is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University (2007) where he earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant,  Upon commissioning he attended Infantry Officer Basic course, Airborne School, Mechanized Leaders Course and Ranger School. He was assigned to and deployed with the 2-508th PIR 4th Brigade 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg as a Platoon Leader.  He was MEDEVAC'd from Afghanistan after sustaining significant injuries while on a dismounted patrol. Later he would return to duty as an Operations Officer with 4th Ranger Training Battalion where he would retire from as a Captain in 2012. 
After retiring Derick entered into competitive disabled sports ultimately winning the 2016 US and World's Strongest Disabled Man competitions.  
Derick is currently living in Michigan and plans to work on his Master's degree and training for 2019 competitions.
