July 2018: Adobe Connect Available for BMMT 200 and 363 for synchronous classes!

Eastern Michigan University’s Business, Management & Marketing Secondary Education program in the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology is making it easier for individuals with business and industry experience to teach in Michigan Career and Technical Education (CTE) Centers.  Beginning Fall 2018, two classes, BMMT 200 and BMMT 363 will be available as hybrid and synchronous courses through Adobe Connect.  By using Adobe Connect, students across the State can attend these courses “live,” without being physically on campus.  BMMT 200 is offered in Fall 2018; BMMT 363 will be offered Winter 2019. Completion of these two classes is one of the requirements to be recommended for the Standard CTE Certificate offered by the Michigan Department of Education.

Individuals who have completed these two courses, and who have a Bachelor’s degree and “recent and relevant” work experience, can apply for a Standard CTE Certificate in certain CIP (business areas classified by numbers) code areas through EMU.

This State Certificate [PDF] only allows students to teach in their approved field (CIP) in a CTE Center.
