Why a Paralegal Major?

The Paralegal Profession holds jobs for the future.

In 2020, the United States Department of Labor has reported its current Occupational Outlook Handbook, that: " Employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 12 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Formally trained paralegals with strong computer and database management skills should have the best job prospects."

  • For advising information, contact the program coordinator.

  • If you are an "intent" major, you will want to complete this form after taking your key paralegal courses. Go to the application for the paralegal major.
  • To accommodate student schedules, most courses are either hybrid (a mix of online and face-to-face meetings) or 100% online. Yet, consistent with American Bar Association requirements, students must take a minimum of nine credits or the equivalent of legal specialty courses through synchronous instruction.
