About Us

The Department of Diversity and Community Involvement (DCI) offers many opportunities for students to learn, develop and find a place to belong.  Through our various programs and services, we assist students with their transition to college, engage them in meaningful dialogue, help them develop their leadership potential, and equip them with the tools to become responsible global citizens.  We encourage students to ask difficult questions, challenge the status quo and broaden the way they view themselves, the world and our campus community.

DCI Mission

We support and empower minoritized students, provide intentional learning experiences, and challenge systems and structures that perpetuate inequities.

DCI Vision

We envision a campus community where equity and inclusion is woven through all facets of EMU in relationship with the community.
