When will the application be available to register for MGC?
The MGC application will open up in mid-late October for December’s graduation. For April’s graduation, the application will open mid-late February. I don’t have access to the application form. What do I do?
Make sure that you’re logged into only your emich.edu account by logging out of every other google account, or opening an incognito window and logging into your emich.edu account. I filled out the form, am I registered for MGC?
You should have received an email from Google Forms with a copy of your responses. Look for this email in your inbox. If you cannot find it, please reach out to us to confirm your participation. If you cannot find the email from Google Forms and we do not have you in your records, you did not successfully register. How many guests can I bring?
December graduation is our smallest graduation, thus at this time, there is no limit on the number of guests you can invite. Due to April being our largest graduation and exceeding capacity in Pease Auditorium, each graduate is allowed to invite up to three guests. You will receive information on how to pick up tickets after you have registered to participate in MGC. We will inform you if this stipulation changes. What should I wear?
Our dress code for graduates is business casual, however you may wear your cap, your gown or both. If you wish, you may also wear traditional/cultural clothing. When do we get our stoles?
You will get your stole as you walk across stage during the ceremony, not before.
Can I pick up my stole early?
Unfortunately, you cannot pick up stoles early. You will receive your stole during graduation.
Can I change the stole I chose?
Send us an email at [email protected] no later than three weeks before the ceremony and we will try and accommodate you. Otherwise, you can change your stole at the END of MGC if there are any stoles remaining. Can I get a stole and not participate?
You (or someone on your behalf) are welcome to come at the end of the ceremony and pick up any remaining left over stoles we may have. Reach out to the Coordinator with any questions at [email protected] if you cannot attend MGC.
How long is the ceremony?
Time varies, but generally the ceremony lasts for two hours. When does MGC take place?
MGC takes place two times a year, once in the fall semester and once in the winter semester. MGC always takes place the Friday before university commencement. You can find the exact dates on the main MGC webpage.
