Professional Certification/Licensure Disclosures
Important Information for Prospective and Current Students
Key Information for Your Career
Federal regulations require that Eastern Michigan University share important details about programs designed to meet the educational requirements for professional certification or licensure. These programs aim to help you secure employment in your chosen field. While our programs meet the accreditation requirements of the Higher Learning Commission and the State of Michigan, they might not meet licensure requirements in other states or U.S. territories. Therefore, completing a program at Eastern Michigan University does not guarantee that you will be licensed or find employment in your profession. Before enrolling, please check the specific educational and licensure requirements for your state of interest.
Understanding Licensure Requirements
Eastern Michigan University offers programs that could lead to professional licensure or certification in states other than Michigan. We are currently researching if our program curricula meet the educational requirements for licensure in other states. If you plan to move to or return to a state outside of Michigan, you should contact the professional licensing boards in that state to see if you will be eligible for licensure or certification. Check out this list of State Licensing Boards for more information.
NOTE: Eastern Michigan University cannot be held responsible if you are unable to qualify for licensure in any state.
