DRC Access Assistants Needed
The Disability Resource Center (DRC) is seeking access assistants for the Winter 2019 academic semester. A DRC access assistant is a student employee hired by the DRC to assist students with disabilities perform tasks that are required components of their laboratory course. Access assistants do not do the work for the student, but they may manipulate materials as directed by the student with a disability.
Some examples of tasks performed by the access assistant:
- Lifting objects
- Physical manipulation of lab materials
- Gathering supplies
- Pouring/mixing liquids
- Using tools and/or cutting
The access assistant should have some knowledge in Earth Science ESSC 110 and Electricity and Light PHY 224. The DRC is looking to fulfill the following times: Thursdays 10:30 a.m.–12:20 p.m. and 12:30–2:20 p.m. in Strong Physical Science Building beginning January 2019. Note-Taker Needed Immediately for Visually Impaired Students
Note taker needed for visually impaired students through the end of the winter semester. Must provide their own laptop and carry a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher. Pay is $9.25 per hour (hours not to exceed four per week total). Hours are Tuesdays noon to 2:45 p.m., once weekly, class in Sill Hall. We also need a note taker for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30–10:45 a.m. in Pray Harrold. If interested, call 734.487.2470 and ask for Jackie.
