Every fall, economics faculty and students welcome the new academic year with this social event. This is a perfect opportunity for new students to meet with the faculty and students.
Student Awards Ceremony
Every April the Department recognizes student academic and service achievements. Students with excel in academics and services are being awarded in this event. Gockerman, Hanna, Murg, and Pearson Monetary Awards culminate the event. See for Scholarships page for a description of awards.
Each spring the College of Arts and Sciences sponsors a symposium which showcases undergraduate creativity and research. As participants in the symposium students present results of their research projects in a setting which mirrors that of a professional academic conference. Department workshops are for faculty and guests to present their current research to students and others interested. Also, faculty members use this forum to present informational seminars on, such things as applying to Ph.D. programs, job interviews, and careers in economics.
