All EMU faculty and staff members traveling in the U.S. and internationally (except U.S. Territories), on official Eastern Michigan University business (excluding everyday travel to and from work) are provided coverage for accidental death or permanent total disability. You do not have to enroll in the Business Travel Accident plan. The university pays for the full cost and enrollment is automatic.

If you are traveling to a U.S. Territory contact the Department of Risk Management three (3) weeks prior to your travel in order to determine coverage needs.

When traveling on university-related business, every member of the university community should leave an itinerary with their department and at least one other person prior to departure.
