Day of Testing

  • Do I need to bring anything with me to test?

    Expand dropdown

When you arrive for your scheduled test time, you will need to bring all of the following:

    1. A photo ID (EMU ID, state ID, driver’s license, or passport),
    2. Your EID number,
    3. A device to connect to EMU’s wireless Internet (such as a cell phone, tablet, or laptop), and
    4. A completed COVID Pass (If you fail your COVID pass, please alert the building screener and you will be asked to sit and wait for a member of the testing center staff).
  • What do I do if I failed my COVID screening pass for the day of my testing?

    Expand dropdown
Everyone is required to complete their COVID screening pass before coming to the testing center or any campus building.  If you fail the pass, please notify the door screener and take a seat in the chair provided. A member of our team will provide you with next steps.  A failed COVID pass could be based on symptoms, exposure, travel or a combination of these factors – all of which our staff and Telehealth can walk you through. We do have a way for symptomatic campus members to still test onsite.
  • How do I get my results?

    Expand dropdown

With the Binax test, results are completed onsite and are sent to you at the email address you provided. Test results are sent same day, usually within two (2) hours of testing.   If you do not receive an email, please email [email protected] for assistance.

  • What if my results are negative?

    Expand dropdown

If the test outcome indicates a negative result, you will not need to take any additional action.

  • If I receive a positive result, what is my next step? Expand dropdown
If the test outcome indicates a positive result for COVID-19, you will receive additional guidance from the Dean of Students, Housing and Residence Life, and/or the EMU Telehealth Clinic.
  • What do I do if I am told I need a “confirmatory test”? Expand dropdown
EMU is still utilizing the Vault saliva based test as our confirmatory test following Binax or as directed from Telehealth.  While at the testing center, you might be asked to complete a Vault test based on various factors of your negative Binax result.  You will be provided a Vault test kit and the registration link while at the testing center in order to complete the Vault test.  The Vault test requires that have eaten, drank any beverage, chewed gum, or used a tobacco product for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to taking the test.  You will be instructed to contact Telehealth regarding your visit to the testing center.  You can reach them at 734.487.3865/[email protected]
