Academic Degree Programs

All CiP students are enrolled in the EMU Bachelor of General Studies program or Individualized Studies Program (ISP)

This program allows for students to capitalize on their previously earned college credit and create an academic pathway that best suits their post-release or in-prison goals. Through this degree program, students are asked to choose three (3) unique areas of concentration to focus their course completion. Students are also required to complete all necessary General Education courses. CiP works with each individual student to create the best academic plan to meet their personal needs/goals.

To help students complete these concentrations, courses are offered from the following academic areas/departments: English & Literature, Business, Women's & Gender Studies, History, Criminology, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling & Leadership, Education, Africology, Psychology, Biology, Communication, and Theater. We are expanding our course offerings every semester!
