Reentry Services
All students admitted to the CiP program while incarcerated have access to EMU's Reentry Services and Programming.
The Process:
- Initial Reentry Needs Assessment (4-5 months before release)
- Weekly meetings with EMU staff to address needs (Reentry Navigator)
- Assistance with continuing educational needs; Bachelor's completion, Master's applications, other credentials.
- Assistance with housing and employment (not guaranteed upon release, but support is provided to find adequate solutions).
- Creation of resumes, cover letters. Interview prep/coaching.
- Students are provided with a laptop, bookbag, and school supplies upon release. Tech coaching provided to those still attending EMU.
- Students can meet with a therapist (free) upon release; provided by EMU.
- Ongoing educational and professional support provided regardless of probationary status or county of release.
