Social Work Continuing Education

For more than a decade, Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Professional Programs and Training (PPAT) has provided post-degree courses and programs for social workers geared towards improvement or enhancement of their social work practice.

What We Can Do

Continuing Education Training for Social Workers (CEUs)

EMU PPAT offers continuing education classes through the School of Social Work, within the College of Health and Human Services at EMU. Every licensed social worker is required to complete 45 hours with five hours in ethics and two hours in pain, physical and/or mental, every three years.

Our instructors are professors and lecturers from the School of Social Work who are advocates for social change and committed in sharing their experience and resources with their students. Find a complete list of courses and training dates on our registration site.

Our Track Record

Since 2008, PPAT has offered more than 75 relevant, social work courses covering pertinent topics such as human trafficking, ethics, trauma, autism spectrum disorders and pain management. We have provided more than 500 clinicians and school social worker professionals with skills that can be implemented the next day to their clients. All of our continuing education programs are approved by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative.
