Language, Literature and Writing Major and Minor

This option allows students to explore interdisciplinary connections between linguistics, literature and writing. Required courses for majors include "Writing about Literature," "An Introduction to Linguistics" and a capstone experience for graduating seniors, emphasizing multigenre work and community involvement. Students complement their studies by selecting from an array of restricted elective courses, ranging from the principles of technical communication to the development of American literature. Course requirements are 36 credits for the major and 24 for the minor.

This interdisciplinary program is taught by faculty in Linguistics, Literature and Written Communication. To find out more about these programs, please visit their individual program pages.
