Events for ESL Students

Winter Bash!

Wednesday, Feb. 3, 3:30 - 4:45 p.m. in the Multicultural Lounge in King Hall. Relax with tea, hot cocoa, cookies, and snacks. Enjoy conversation and games as we work to weather this winter together!

World Poetry Day

Celebrate World Poetry Day on Monday, March 21 from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m. in the Multicultural Lounge in King Hall.

Join us for lunch and poetry! Bring your favorite poem (in any language) to share with your fellow students, then help the rest of us understand what it means. We will use English, drawings, props, and body language to share poetry and learn about each other’s traditions. Our last activity will be a poetry-writing race (in English). The poems we write will be displayed for the rest of the month at the ISRC.

World Poetry Day was established by UNESCO in 1999 to encourage people around the world to share their creativity, languages, cultures, and traditions through poetry. To find out more, please visit http://www.un.org/en/events/poetryday/

ESL Student Symposium
