Social Emotional Learning (SEL) 101

Four-hour, online course providing an introduction to social-emotional learning practices for pre-student teachers, student teachers, classroom teachers, out-of-school time educators and administrators.

Professional Learning that Works:
Collaborative Inquiry

Future dates TBA | (6 SCECHs) | Amy Colton, Ph.D. and Kay Cornell

During this one-day session, you’ll examine the characteristics of effective collaborative inquiry and discuss the steps, the challenges and the benefits of collaborative inquiry. After learning what collaborative inquiry is and why it's effective, you’ll leave with tools to implement collaborative inquiry in their schools and districts.

EMWP Summer Institute: Initiatives in Writing

Future Dates TBA | William Tucker, Ph.D.

An intensive, 2.5-week session designed for teachers (K-college) concerned with the teaching of writing in any subject area. We will:

  • Write, as well as respond to other's writing.
  • Read and talk about current research in the teaching of writing.
  • Develop research questions about teaching writing in our own contexts.
