Registration link coming soon.
Deadline to register is September 18, 2017
Are you seeking ways to reducing stress and promote a greater sense of contentment in your life? Please join us for an exploration of mindfulness practice and work through a facilitated book discussion of Real Happiness at Work by author Sharon Salzberg.
Each week we will discuss a chapter of the book and participate in mindfulness exercises associated with Salzberg’s Eight Pillars of Happiness in the Workplace: balance, concentration, compassion, resilience, communication & connection, integrity, meaning, and open awareness.
“Sharon Salzberg’s Real Happiness at Work is a practical guide to improving work life through mindfulness, compassion, and ingenuity. It’s about being committed without being consumed, competitive without being cruel, managing time and emotions to counterbalance stress and frustration. It shows readers how to be more creative, organized, and accomplished in order to do better, more productive work.” - http://www.sharonsalzberg.com/real-happiness-at-work/
All participants will have access to a CANVAS shell with copies of the book chapters and other resources. Participants will receive copy of the book at the end of the semester who attend at least half of the 8 one-hour sessions. Dates and times will be determined based on participant schedules. Suzanne Gray, Associate Professor, Halle Library will serve as the group facilitator.
