Governance, Employment, and Logistics
The Eastern Michigan University Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (EMU-AAUP) is the labor union that represents the tenured and tenure-track faculty at Eastern Michigan University.
The Eastern Michigan University Federation of Teachers (EMUFT) is the labor union that represents lecturers at Eastern Michigan University.
Academic Human Resources handles recruitment and hiring of Faculty and Lecturers for EMU. It also supports retention and professional growth of Faculty and Lecturers.
Benefits for faculty and staff alike are managed by the Human Resources department (not to be confused with AHR, above). The HR Benefits program enrolls all faculty and staff in benefits programs, processes claims, and administers the tuition waiver program, retirement programs and tax deferred annuity plans.
The Faculty Senate is the representative voice of EMU faculty in all academic matters and university matters that are not the responsibility of the EMU-AAUP. The EMU-AAUP Master Agreement provides for its specific authority.
Location Change! As of Summer 2011, 201 Pierce Hall is the new location of the Eagle Card Services. The Eagle OneCard is the required official University identification card. It acts as the campus community's pass for dining plans, building and event access, and library privileges.
The Parking Department takes care of the EMU parking lots and traffic regulations. Faculty/Lecturer hang tags are supplied by the departments or schools. Contact the Parking Department for information about premium (reserved) parking passes, temporary disabled permits, and violations and penalties. For parking difficulties, see the EMU Parking Department's page.
Once Faculty/Lecturers contact the bookstore to obtain a password, Faculty/Lecturers may order course materials online through the Follett Online Adoptions page.
