The Bruce K. Nelson Faculty Development Center is committed to fostering the idenities and experiences of all EMU faculty, students, community members, etc. To support these communities, we have curated this list of resources for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the pedagogy and practice of teaching. By highlighting these resources, we hope to encourage an inclusive campus culture which both welcomes all community members and supports them through the entirity of their academic journey.

Accessibility on Canvas
In accordance with the university Web Accessibility Policy, Eastern Michigan University is committed to providing barrier-free access to online content and functionality, ensuring that it is accessible to students, prospective students, employees, guests and visitors with disabilities. This includes course content provided on the Canvas learning management system.

The Center for E-Learning provides training on ensuring Canvas accessibility and one-on-one consulting to help instructors learn how to apply the standards to their content. Changing the Cycle
EMU is on a mission to end period poverty on campus. This includes giving away free mentstrual products (organic pads/tampons, and menstrual cups). These are located in a number of restrooms, and also can be found in Swoops Food Pantry. To learn more, or find a restroom click here.

The Creating a Culture of Belonging video series was an initiative of the Faculty Senate's Task Force on Campus Climate, Race, Diversity, and completed thanks to the support of the Provost's Office.
