Summer Financial Aid

While most financial aid is awarded for Fall (September-December) and Winter (January-April) terms, financial aid is available to students during Summer term (May-August) as well.

If you plan to take courses over the summer, you may be able to receive some financial aid to offset the costs.

Some summer awarding is based on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore it is important to get all required information submitted as soon as possible. The FAFSA from the current aid year must be on file in order to determine your financial aid eligibility.

If you want to be considered for Summer financial aid, you must be in a degree-seeking program at Eastern Michigan University and meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

Applying for Summer Aid

To apply for Summer financial aid, you must:

  • File a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), if not already on file.
  • Complete the Summer financial aid application available February 15 (if the 15th falls on a weekend, the application will be available on Monday). The form is available online but must have a written signature to be accepted.
