#Give2EMU: Because research creates impact.

Andrea Mellendorf is taking public relations to the next level. Here's how she has put donor gifts to work:
As alumni and supporters, you know that Eastern isn’t an ordinary university.  We don’t sit back and watch four or five years go by. We are engaged, active, and learning to be leaders in our fields.

When you consider making a gift to Eastern, I’d like you to keep student research in mind.

Student research activities are part of what makes Eastern so unique. As a student, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved with the Undergraduate Symposium, a one-day program for students to present their research and creative work.

Undergraduate Symposium has allowed myself, and many Eastern students, to pursue our passions. We get hands-on experience outside of the classroom from faculty mentors who are experts in their fields.  Undergraduate Symposium gave me the extra challenge that I needed to supplement my educational experience at EMU.

As a rising senior studying public relations and communication I also serve as the chapter president for the Public Relations Student Society of America, social media operator for the Honors College, social media manager for the College of Arts and Sciences, and a resident advisor for Housing and Residence Life. I’ve also been able to study abroad in London, England!

I know Eastern isn’t an ordinary university and I know you aren’t ordinary alumni and friends.  I hope you will choose to make a difference for thousands of EMU students like me, who are striving to achieve academic excellence, even beyond the classroom.

Gifts of all sizes will make a huge difference when we all come together. Thank you for supporting EMU.

Thankfully, Andrea
