Professional Summary

Janine is from Dearborn Heights, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science from EMU, with a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology.

As an undergraduate, she worked closely with the Political Science Department at EMU to center her undergraduate research on American politics, public law and administration. She is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies. Her thesis will work to understand gendered political participation and the lack of minority women in American politics.

She is currently a graduate assistant at the The Honors College overseeing the Programming team. Her work is rooted in developing ideas, supporting professional and personal growth, and contributing to the overall mission of The Honors College.

Prior to being a GA, Janine worked as a political organizer in local communities across the Midwest. Her experience is in team building and grassroots fundraising.

She is dedicated to the advancement of students at EMU and is consistently inspired by the faculty, GAs, and students at The Honors College.
