Things to do on campus while visiting your student

You don’t have to wait for Parent and Family Weekend to visit campus. There are tons of fun things to do with your student throughout the year!

Visiting the Residence Halls

When visiting your student, please keep in mind that the residence halls and apartments are adult living and learning environments. Guests, including brothers and sisters, must be at least 18 years of age or older and have a state issued photo ID, passport, or military ID to enter living areas. The Residence Hall Association (RHA) hosts “Lil’ Sibs Weekend”, traditionally held in February or March, where younger family members are encouraged to visit their big brother or sister attending Eastern Michigan University.

Lil’ Sibs Weekend

Housing and Residence Life and the Residence Hall Association (RHA) invites students to host their siblings at Lil’ Sibs Weekend, which is typically held in the winter semester each year. Lil’ Sibs Weekend is a weekend-long series of events on Eastern’s campus that allows students to re-unite with their younger siblings for an entire weekend and share their Residence Life experience here at Eastern. Registration is required - please visit  for information.

Parking on campus

Visitors, without a parking hang tag, may park in any of the metered areas or any gated paid parking areas including Alexander, Bowen, McKenny, Pease, or the Student Center Paid Lots by paying the posted fee.
