Student Data

The information in this section is collected and analyzed by Institutional Research and Information Management (IRIM) about Eastern Michigan University (EMU) students. This data includes enrollment, academic performance, student outcomes, and various demographic factors.

It is sourced from the Official Record of IRIM Data Warehouse which is snapshot from Banner at the end of each term. However, certain data sets, such as those labeled Opening Term (OT), are captured at the beginning of the term and include specific explanations.

Explanations

  • Official Record is End of term data captured from Banner 3 or 4 weeks after term ends.
  • Opening Term is Start of term data captured from Banner once on the 10th day of classes (also known as Census Date).
  • Both terms provide a static snapshot for reporting purposes.
  • Fiscal Year (FY) includes terms starting with Summer-2, then followed by Fall, Winter and Summer-1 (e.g., FY2024 begins with Summer-2 2023, then Fall 2023, Winter 2024, and ends with Summer-1 2024).
  • Academic Year (AY) includes terms starting with Fall, then followed by Winter and Summer (e.g., AY2024 begins with Fall 2023 and ends with Summer 2024).
  • All Terms within Fiscal Year and Academic Year are Official Record snapshots.
