Advisory Committees

The Division of Information Technology receives input from the following planning and operational committees:

  • Business Operations Committee (BOC)

    Purpose

    The Enterprise Resource Planning BOC ensures that  I.T. scheduled work does not conflict with other major institutional events. This group is also responsible for coordinating the testing of proposed new products or releases prior to their being moved to production status in order to minimize any negative impact on the university community or systems.

    Computer System Maintenance

    All planned maintenance for major I.T. systems is scheduled by the BOC. Whenever possible, planned system outages are scheduled for Friday or Saturday evenings. The BOC includes representation from various campus units and Faculty Council.

    The committee is composed of major stakeholders responsible for the day-to-day operations of specific functional areas:

    Purpose

    The Computer Refresh Program Committee ensures that the computer systems provided by I.T. to faculty, staff, and students are replaced on a regular, systematic, and efficient basis.

  • Banner Functional Security Team

    Mission Statement

    The mission of the Banner Functional Security Team is to guarantee that EMU employees have appropriate access to perform their jobs while protecting data as required by federal, state, and local laws. Requests for Banner access (or data housed in Banner) are subject to review and approval by the appropriate Banner Functional Security Representative. Additionally, the team evaluates the impact of technical security solutions being assessed by the Division of Information Technology.
