SOAHOLD - Viewing Hold History

Use the Hold Information form (SOAHOLD) to view a historical record of holds that have been placed on a student’s record along with the from/to dates. Holds may prevent registration, graduation and the production of transcripts. Hold types can include ESL holds, financial holds, judicial holds and double-c holds.

Follow these directions to view information in SOAHOLD:

  1. From the Banner Main menu, type the form name in the Go To... box press the [Enter] key on the keyboard.

  2. The form is displayed. If necessary, search for the person. See Searching for a Person by ID or Name for more information.

  3. Click the Next Block button on the toolbar.

  4. The Hold Details block is populated with current and historical hold information. 
    Note: There are three (3) key pieces of information on this block:
       - Hold Type - This field describes the hold type (e.g., Past Due Account)
       - To - If the date in this field is later than today's date or blank, the student has a hold. If the date is earlier than today's date, it is no longer a hold.
       - Origination Code - This field displays the office that placed the hold, along with their telephone number. Click the Origination Code field pull-down arrow to view a list of offices and their telephone numbers.
  5. When you are finished, click the Exit button on the toolbar to return to the Banner Main menu.
