Logging in to Banner (INB)

To log in to Banner (INB), you will need an internet connection, an Division of IT supported web browser , and a valid Banner username and password.

Follow these directions to log in to INB:

  1. Navigate to the Banner Launch page by typing https://www.emich.edu/it/inb in your browser address bar.
  2. The INB Launch page is displayed. Click the Banner Login (BERP) link.

    Note: If you get a "Page not found" error, the system may be unavailable. Contact the Division of Technology Help Desk to report this problem.

    The Changing your password for... window is displayed if your Banner password has expired. See Banner Password Expiration for more information.

  3. The Login dialog box is displayed. Type your Banner username in the Username field.

    Note: The Banner username format is firstname_lastname. The username and password fields are not case-sensitive.
  4. Type your Banner password in the Password field.
  5. Click the Connect button.

    Note: If you get an ORA-01017: Invalid username/password; login denied error, you are likely typing your username or password incorrectly. If you continue to receive this error, you may not have a Banner username or may need to reset your Banner password. See Requesting/Resetting Banner Access for more information.

    If you get an ORA-28000: the account is locked error, you will need to reset your password. See Requesting/Resetting Banner Access for more information.

    If you get an ORA-12154: TNS could not resolve service name error, you are typing something other than BERP in the Database field or you did not click the Banner Login (BERP) link in step 2.

  6. The Banner Main menu is displayed.
