Eastern Michigan University's Jewish Studies Minor requires 21 hours of coursework, with 6 hours of required classes and 15 hours of restricted electives.

  • Jewish Children's and Adolescent Literature (CHL) 3 hrs
  • Jewish Theater in America (CMTA) 3hrs
  • Nineteenth-Century Jewish Literature (LITR) 3hrs
  • American Trauma: Intersections of the Jewish-American/African-American Experience (LITR) 3hrs
  • Becoming Jewish in America (LITR/PLSC) 3 hrs
  • Israeli Politics (PLSC) 3hrs
  • Jewish American Politics (PLSC) 3 hrs


The EMU Center for Jewish Studies is offering a special course in May 2016. Aleksandra Bednarowska will be teaching "Women and the Holocaust" (WGST 479) May 4th through May 25th. The course will also count towards the Jewish Studies minor.
