What is Open Access?

The Open Access movement advocates for free access to scholarly literature for the advancement of knowledge and for the greater good of society. Open Access Week is an opportunity to consider issues surrounding scholarly communication, such as the economics of publishing, copyright, access to publicly-funded research, and authors' rights.
