Upgrades to Library Website, Esearch, and Ask a Librarian

The EMU community will see several significant upgrades to library interfaces when returning to campus this fall:

New Library Website

The new library website was developed and designed by the library in collaboration with the Integrated Content team in the Division of Communications. The new site provides easy access to the library's many online resources and meets web standards for accessibility. The library will be making ongoing improvements to the site in the coming academic year in response to feedback and additional user testing.

Esearch Update

The previous library catalog, often used to find books, has now been replaced by Esearch, the library discovery search.  EMU is the first library to integrate Esearch with Alma, our back-end library management system. This integration provides improved resource management workflows and the simplicity of single search system for library users.

Ask a Librarian Chat

Users of the Ask a Librarian chat system will notice an updated look and feel to the interface. The chat system continues to provide 24/7 research help through a collaborative network of professional librarians. Check out Ask a Librarian chat on the library website and Research Guides pages.

The library invites comments on these changes through our feedback form.
