To ensure there is enough time for your application to be processed, apply by:

  • May 15 for Fall term;
  • October 15 for Winter term;
  • March 15 for Summer term.
  • Applications submitted after a deadline will also be given full consideration whenever possible.

We offer two Master of Science degrees in the mathematical sciences. Completion of each of these programs requires 30–34 credits hours and can be accomplished in 1.5 -2 years. There are about 50 graduate students from a variety of international backgrounds currently enrolled in the programs.

Some of our graduate students pursued careers in industry - others enrolled successfully into doctoral programs, or teach at the college level. These are a few of the career directions for mathematics graduates.

Combining a strong mathematics background with biology, nutrition, physics, chemistry, computer science or economics can enhance the chances of getting a job.

Master of Science in Applied Statistics

The Master of Science in Applied Statistics offers a wide range of courses in applied statistics as well as a solid theoretical background. This program provides students with the knowledge and programming skills necessary to apply statistics in a variety of areas, and can lead to the pursuit of higher studies in many fields, or to a career as a statistician.

Master of Science in Mathematics

The Master of Science in Mathematics provides students with a flexible and rigorous education in advanced mathematics. It can serve students with a wide range of backgrounds and career goals. The program provides a broad background in mathematics for secondary teachers pursing continued education. Graduates are also prepared for employment in business, government, community college teaching, or for the pursuit of a doctoral degree in mathematics.
